Amateur Gardener

                                         

       Now a days I am seeing butterflies ,bees and black bumble bee everyday.Its just because my plants are blooming continuously .Previously it was Jasmine then Portulaca and now Madhumalti ( Rangoon Creeper) is ready to bloom.My father always had a kitchen garden but I was never that much interested. But now I am very interested in gardening. Actually I do not have a garden .its just few potted plant and a big Madhumalti creeper.

                I started it because I wanted to escape stress and it was very worth of every bit of it.I can not tell how happy I was when my jasmine started showing new buds. My variety of Jasmine has quite intense fragrance. Then after that portulaca showed hundred flowers per day whole summer.Now I want to share my experience that in how many  ways my gardening experience made me more happier and responsible person.

 1.Happiness-

I am a lot more happier  now then I was. To see nature growing everyday makes me so happy. The change of shape, color and texture changing everyday made me so happy and it inspire me to grow continuously in life each and every day. I am more happier person now.

2 . Patience-

The  most important thing I learn from gardening is patience. I was very stressed because I was running out of patience. When I planted a plant I just wanted them to grow overnight the way I wanted but nature does not work that way.It takes time.it takes its own time. It grows continuously but it do it on its own pace. Most important lesson of life is that to cultivate something you  have to deal with time whether its success or relationship.

3.Imagination-

To accomplish anything you need a vision. In just wanted make a wall of flowers and wanted flowers along the door.I did not know that it will happen or not but now I am pretty close to it. My wall of flower is almost complete. Still little space is empty but it grew like the way I wanted.I trained Madhmalati creeper everyday to be the ways I wanted. I wanted to make a arrangement of colour contrast container.But I did not had a big container so I tried it in a small pot.i planted sweet potato vine of one neon and one maroon colour and a moneyplant and a white portulaca .It grown together very quickly. It looks quite beautiful .So all I want to say that we need to have a vision to accomplish anything

4-Observation-

Now I am better observer than I was .I watch everyday new growth ,insect attack and moisture content in pot soil. Sometimes I look at the behavior of plant toward variety of factors like sun light ,shade,temperature.Some plant need more light and some plants need very less.

5-Learn from failure-

Most prominently I learned to cope up with failure.I planted tiny plants of vinca roses (Sadabahar) but I was fail few times .After that I studied about vinca roses behaviers.Now I have seven vinca rose plants they are doing great.Actualy vinca rose is a bush which belong to dry and hot area.So they ned less water and direct sunlight for long time.

6-Responsibilities-

I am more responsible person now.I have responsibilities of caring  these plants otherwise they gonna die.I can not take that pain .So I care for it.I examine it everyday to make sure they get what they need.

7- Knowledge of Birds-

Now I have little knowledge of birds.Specially sun birds.Now I can understand the food pattern of birds much better ways.If there is a sun bird then they do not eat rice or sunflower seed or corn. They need necter so only way you can feeded them  by plant flowering plants and flowering trees.

8-Better Understanding of Shapes, Colours and Structures-

Now I have better understanding of colours.There are so many different structures in nature .None of two plants show same behavior.Now I better understand the colour variation.

9- Better Understanding of Season-

Now I have much better understanding of seasons. Now I know in which time which one crop will grow. There is very much difference in summer and winter in case of plants.

10 -Better awareness about variety of plants-

now I have better understanding of variety of plants.I never noticed that my workplace garden has three varieties of Kaner ( Oleander) and three varieties of jasmine.I never noticed that gorgeous rose bushes, pomegrate tree, gooseberry trees,lemon tree ,two types of basil.
